More Hugs

I caught a cute moment with the boys in the tub :)

Parky's Farm

On Saturday we went to a birthday party at Parky's Farm. It's the first time we have gone this spring, so Jacob, developmentally, is very different from where he was in the fall. It was so fun to watch the kids have a blast (and Matthew was with his school friends, so that made it special for him!)

Matthew on a pony. He LOVES anything that is alive. So he was pretty excited to ride the pony.

Here is Jacob using one of his few words, "Hi" (with a whole lot of air behind the I)

Matthew did a good job brushing some goats. This little two-week-old baby was playing games! He ran all over.

Good times! I'm sure we'll go back soon!

Busted!

Is this where he goes so no one will steal his snack? (And who knows what
I will find on the bottom of my closet!)

Writing!

We have been working on writing with Matthew, very much off and on, for awhile now. I go in spurts where we'll work hard, and then forget about it for awhile. Matthew made this card for a friend last week. I was so proud of him. He had just a little help (and traced a couple letters), but really did it mostly himself. I kind of wanted to keep the card. I know it means nothing to the 3-year-old he gave it to! So I took a picture instead.

Oh, the Things Kids Say!

Tonight at bedtime we were all working on learning the words to Jesus Loves Me in Spanish. Matthew was so excited about it and loving trying to learn it. After trying a few times, he did it in English. After he finished I told him that I would never tire of hearing him sing that and that God really liked hearing it too. He looked at me and said, "Now I'm going to sing it to God". He lifted up his shirt and sang to his belly. After he was done, I asked, "Why did you lift up your shirt?" He said, "Because I was singing to God!" I asked, "Where is God?" (I kind of knew where he was going with it...) He answered, "In my heart!" So precious...he was literally singing to his heart. I love it. I almost teared up! All I could do was hug him!

A Little Lovin'

As the boys start to play together more and more, Matthew often tries to "love" on Jacob. He gives hugs and kisses, but often they are too long for Jacob's liking! Jacob usually squeals and tries to get away. It isn't often that Jacob enjoys the hugs. Tonight, Jacob gave Matthew the biggest hug he ever has. Here's one of the pictures I took. It lasted a long time. Matthew is in his dance costume that he got tonight. He was pretty excited about it.

Here's Matthew about to be attacked from behind (hehe)

And here is the backward choochoo train down the hallway, led by Jacob. Again, not the usual, and kind of funny.

Two Kids

So in reviewing the post I just did, I realize it's a little heavy on Jacob pictures...it's not that I love him more, but rather that Matthew usually protests having his picture taken. I'll work on that :)
